A manufacturer that wanted to improve performance in a rotary airlock needed a material with the performance of PTFE and the dimensional stability of a more rigid thermoplastic.
Solution
Replacing the graphite-filled PTFE parts modified PTFE floating seals allowed performance gains across the -200° F (-130° C) to 450° F (230° C) operating range.

With longer part life, better dimensional stability and virtually no wear to mating parts, the modified PTFE reduced maintenance and motor load.
